La gira mundial de 1966 que resultar\u00eda ser la \u00faltima del grupo, estuvo rodeada de muchos episodios que acabaron por desencadenar la decisi\u00f3n de abandonar las actuaciones delante del p\u00fablico. Las declaraciones de John sobre Jesucristo que hicieron pensar que sus \u00faltimas actuaciones en los EE.UU podr\u00edan significar un peligro para sus vidas. El desgraciado incidente de Filipinas con\u00a0 la familia Marcos, el dictador que ostentaba el poder en ese pa\u00eds por aquel entonces. Y Jap\u00f3n, donde ciertos colectivos interpretaron como una ofensa la utilizaci\u00f3n del recinto dedicado a las Artes Marciales, llamado Budokan, para un concierto de Rock. Todo un sacrilegio para muchos.<\/p>

Pues bien, centr\u00e1ndonos en Jap\u00f3n, el grupo pas\u00f3 muchas horas dentro de una habitaci\u00f3n de hotel, concretamente el Hotel Hilton. Brian Epstein, inquieto por la escena de aburrimiento, coloc\u00f3 en una mesa una l\u00e1mina en blanco con una l\u00e1mpara en el centro, invitando a John, Paul, George y Ringo a pintar lo que se les ocurriera, cada uno en un cuadrante de la l\u00e1mina, para pintar usaron \u00f3leo y acuarelas. El extremo inferior izquierdo corresponde a Starr, mientras que el derecho es obra de Harrison. El extremo superior derecho fue firmado por McCartney y el izquierdo por Lennon.<\/p>

Robert Whitaker, que se encontraba en la misma habitaci\u00f3n, coment\u00f3 que la iniciativa de Brian funcion\u00f3 y que los Beatles incluso disfrutaron de la experiencia. Los cuatro Beatles se tomaron dos d\u00edas para finalizar el cuadro y el proceso fue fotografiado por Whitaker, quien revel\u00f3: \u201cParaban de pintar, iban y hac\u00edan un concierto, y luego dec\u00edan \u00a1volvamos al cuadro! Nunca los vi m\u00e1s tranquilos o contentos que en este momento<\/strong>\u201d . Al acabar, cada uno de ellos firm\u00f3 el cuadro en el c\u00edrculo central que hab\u00eda dejado la l\u00e1mpara que estaba all\u00ed. El nombre de la obre \u00abImages of a woman\u00bb.<\/p>

El cuadro fue propiedad de Tetsusaburo Shimoyama, presidente del club de fans de Tokyo, hasta en d\u00eda de su muerte. En 1989 fue adquirida por Takao Nishimo.<\/p>
