La mayor\u00eda de las historias de The Beatles y su primer bater\u00eda, Pete Best, lo eliminaron abruptamente de la historia tan pronto como fue despedido de la banda en agosto de 1962.\u00a0Pero ah\u00ed no termin\u00f3 la historia para Pete.<\/p>

Pete Best era un personaje conocido en la escena de Liverpool, y no tuvo problemas para encontrar un concierto con una banda diferente de Liverpool. Despu\u00e9s de solo unas pocas semanas de desempleo, se convirti\u00f3 en el bater\u00eda de Lee Curtis & The All Stars, quienes obtuvieron un contrato discogr\u00e1fico con Decca en 1963 (ir\u00f3nicamente, el mismo sello discogr\u00e1fico que hab\u00eda rechazado a The Beatles poco m\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o antes).<\/p>

Lee Curtis & The All Stars lanzaron dos singles de 7\u00bb durante la estancia de Pete con la banda antes de que una disputa entre Lee y los dem\u00e1s causara un mot\u00edn. Lee de pronto se encontr\u00f3 sin banda, mientras que los All Stars se rebautizaron a s\u00ed mismos como The Pete Best Four.<\/p>

Bajo este nombre, la banda lanz\u00f3 tres sencillos en 1964 antes de ganar un quinto miembro y cambiar su nombre a The Pete Best Combo. Le siguieron otros singles y un LP, aunque su sello discogr\u00e1fico con sede en Nueva York los ve\u00eda como un intento de sacar provecho del nombre de Los Beatles. Con ese fin, su \u00fanico \u00e1lbum lanzado bajo el t\u00edtulo Best of The Beatles, que no complaci\u00f3 a ning\u00fan miembro de la banda, incluido Pete.<\/p>

Sin embargo, la banda continu\u00f3 con su carrera discogr\u00e1fica hasta 1966, cuando fueron abandonados por su sello, y siguieron actuando hasta 1968, cuando Pete decidi\u00f3 que ya hab\u00eda tenido suficiente. Luego comenz\u00f3 una ausencia de veinte a\u00f1os de su carrera musical para convertirse en funcionario p\u00fablico.<\/p>

Si bien ninguna de estas grabaciones condujo a un \u00e9xito duradero para Pete, dos miembros del Pete Best Four Combo, Tony Waddington y Wayne Bickerton, tuvieron un \u00e9xito posterior como compositores de la banda de la d\u00e9cada de 1970 The Rubettes, por lo que pronto se encontraron con el \u00e9xito. Salvando las distancias entre ambos grupos, Pete no se perdi\u00f3 el gran momento solo una vez, \u00a1sino dos veces!<\/p>

Pete finalmente regres\u00f3 al negocio de la m\u00fasica en la d\u00e9cada de 1980 despu\u00e9s de publicar sus memorias de su tiempo con The Beatles, y poco despu\u00e9s, actu\u00f3 en un especial de televisi\u00f3n de Dick Clark.
